Based in Princeton, New Jersey, KSS Architects is a mid-sized firm looking to separate themselves from the crowded field of stark, minimal architecture web sites. KSS wanted a site that feels like who they are and one that highlights what makes them different. The focus needed to be on who they are as people and what inspires them throughout the process - and less of a reliance on a staged empty building shot.

We conceived a site that relies heavily on social media (Instagram to be specific). Almost every page of the site pulls from their deep feed of project shots, culture shots and inspiration. It was important to show their projects in-use, so each project page allows them to share project inspiration, building shots and a feed of in-use photography shot with a focus on people using the space.

One of the more structurally complex sites we've attempted, and a huge challenge to translate to mobile and tablet devices. But in the end KSS has an architecture site like no other, and a place online to share the real people who create and use the spaces.
